As agile coaches, we often say we want people and teamsbeing agile, not just doing agile. We want them to have the mindset to live the values and principles, not simply to mechanically follow events and roles.
But sometimes what we really mean is that we want people being agile while also doing agile, sticking closely to our standard practices, events, and artifacts.
That’s a good place to start. Proven patterns help new teams find rhythm and deliver. Standard approaches can also make scaling easier in large, complex environments.
But over time, this should evolve.
True agility is when teams not only self-organize what they build but also how they build it.
